Changes in Phytosanitary Regulations of Finland


The following changes in the phytosanitary regulations of Finland enter into force on 1991-04-03 and 1991-06-01, respectively.

1.        Thrips palmi is added to the A1 list of harmful plant pests. Plants and parts of plants infected or infested with Thrips palmi shall not be imported into Finland.

2.        Plants of roses planted in pots or other substrates may be imported, provided that growing medium is derived from unused and clean horticultural peat (Sphagnum) or mineral wool, vermiculite, perlite or equivalent artificial unused and clean growing medium or other nutritive substrate and roses have been grown exclusively in this growing medium.

The importation of roses planted in pots was previously prohibited.
