New distribution list of Thrips palmi
Thrips palmi (EPPO A1 list) is spreading actively throughout the Caribbean. The newest record of T. palmi comes from Saint Lucia.
The new distribution list of T. palmi:
EPPO region: absent
North America: reported only from Hawaii (US).
Asia: Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. Most likely the organism is present in many other countries within south and south-eastern Asia.
Africa: Mauritius, Sudan
Central America & Caribbean: at least Antigua and Barbuda,
Barbados, Dominican Republic, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Puerto Rico, Saint Lucia, St. Kitts and Nevis, Trinidad and Tobago, but actively spreading in the Caribbean and likely to be present in other countries.
Oceania: Australia, Guam, New Caledonia, Western Samoa, Wallis & Futuna Island.
