Reorganization of the Norwegian Plant Inspection Service

From 1986 the Plant Inspection Service of Norway is a part of the National Agricultural Inspection Service (in Norwegian: Statens Tilsynsinstitusjoner i Landbruket, abbr.: STIL).
STIL is an official authority established by, and responsible to the Ministry of Agriculture for the administration of regulations concerning the input factors in agriculture.
The head office of the Norwegian Plant Inspection Service was formerly situated in Oslo. From 1990-01-01, the functions of the head office were transferred to and combined with the section of STIL dealing with phytosanitary work, the Phytosanitary Section.
The Phytosanitary Section (the new head office of the plant inspection service), is led by one section leader and two special officers.
