Toxoptera citricidus is present in Cuba
Toxoptera citricidus (EPPO A1 quarantine pest), vector of citrus tristeza closterovirus, has been found in Cuba in the eastern part of the island (provinces of Guant…namo, Santiago de Cuba, Granma y Holguin). This finding was reported to FAO by the Cuban Ministry of Agriculture in July 1993. The pest has been found on orange (Citrus sinensis) and on Mexican lime (Citrus aurantifolia). According to surveys carried out in the other parts of the country, T. citricidus is limited to the eastern part of the island and measures are taken to prevent further spread.
