Specific ELISA test to identify Trogoderma granarium
An ELISA test, using a monoclonal antibody highly specific to Trogoderma granarium (EPPO A2 quarantine pest), has been developed in Wisconsin (US). With this method, it was possible to distinguish adults, pupae and larvae of T. granarium from six other Trogoderma species (T. anthrenoides, T. glabrum, T. inclusum, T. simplex, T. sternale plagifer, T. variabile). The authors felt that this method could be valuable for quarantine purposes as it provides rapid and accurate identification of T. granarium.
