Doubtful records of Thrips palmi in North America
In the EPPO Reporting Service no. 94/057, a reference was made to new occurrences of Thrips palmi (EPPO A1 quarantine pest) in Bermuda, California and Texas, mentioned in the journal of the Mexican Plant Protection Service "Boletin Fitosanitario". The EPPO Secretariat has made further enquiries and USDA has answered that T. palmi has not been reported and is not present in California and Texas. It stated that, in USA, T. palmi occurs only in Florida and Hawaii. Concerning, its occurrence in Bermuda, no further information has been given yet.
