First report of Diabrotica virgifera in Romania
The EPPO Secretariat has recently been informed by the Plant Protection Service of Romania that Diabrotica virgifera (EPPO A2 quarantine pest) was found for the first time in Romania. On the 1996-07-15, 3 adults of D. virgifera were caught in one yellow sticky trap, in Nadlac (Arad district) at 300 m from the Hungarian border. So far, no other corn rootworm has been trapped. The monitoring programme on this pest will continue.
