Further spread of Maconellicoccus hirsutus in the Caribbean
Maconellicoccus hirsutus (pink or Hibiscus mealybug) has newly been introduced into the Caribbean. This pest has been found in Grenada in November 1994, and Trinidad in August 1995 (see EPPO RS 95/235). More recently (in November 1995), the pink mealybug has also been reported in St Kitts ; Nevis.
