Findings and eradication of Plasmopara halstedii and Xanthomonas fragariae in the Netherlands
- Plasmopara halstedii (EPPO A2 quarantine pest) has been found in a trial field of sunflower in the Netherlands. The origin of this infection was infected seeds. Eradication measures were taken and the infected lot was destroyed. In addition, the growing of sunflower on the infested field is prohibited for eight years.
- Xanthomonas fragariae (EPPO A2 quarantine pest) was found in strawberry plants. Eradication of the infestation was achieved by destroying the infected plant material.
