First finding of Colletotrichum acutatum in Austria
The NPPO of Austria has recently informed the EPPO Secretariat that Colletotrichum acutatum (EU Annex II/A2) was found in Austria for the first time. It was detected by ELISA on imported strawberry plants in the regions of Burgenland and Steiermark (south-east of Austria). In order to control the disease and prevent any further spread, all plants in infested fields were destroyed. It was not possible to determine how the disease was introduced into Austria.
