Situation of Dacus ciliatus in Israel


The presence of Dacus ciliatus (Diptera: Tephritidae – EPPO A1 List) in Israel was first reported in 1996 (EPPO RS 96/065) when a local outbreak was discovered at Neot Smadar in the Arava valley. According to the NPPO of Israel, the pest is still present there.
The pest status of Dacus ciliatus in Israel is officially declared as: Present, in Arava area, distribution under surveillance.
