EPPO Reporting Service (2017/053) : there is one record (Wood, 2007) of the pest in Manaus (Amazonas), and this isolated finding has not been confirmed by other publications.
EPPO Reporting Service (2023/182) : the report in Brazil may be due to an erroneous synonymy of the superficially similar Coptoborus tristiculus (Wood, 1975) with Xyleborus molestulus Wood, 1975, which was recently synonymized with Euwallacea perbrevis (a member of the Euwallacea fornicatus species complex).
EPPO Reporting Service (2024/081) : First specimens of Euwallacea fornicatus sensu stricto were caught in March 2019 in Minas Gerais. Subsequently, also found in the states of Ceará, Paraná, Santa Catarina, and São Paulo. The insect was found breeding in Acacia mangium, Persea americana, Solanum mauritianum and Toona ciliata.
