In 2010, the presence of Ceratocystis platani was confirmed in a small plantation of Platanus acerifolia in the municipality of Calonge (Baix Emporda, Girona - Cataluna). Eradication measures were taken. In 2011 and following years, several public and private areas planted with susceptible hosts plants were inspected (in Calonge and surrounding municipalities). Samples were collected and all tested negative. The autonomous region of Cataluna has confirmed that the outbreak has been eradicated.
