Comments
From country itself (1992):
Biotype A (X. citri pv. citri): detected in 1979 in Salto and Paysandú departments. A strict eradication programme started immediately after. It still has a restricted distribution and is considered an A2 pest for Uruguay.
Biotype B (now X. citri pv. aurantifolii): identified in 1949. Started disseminating in 1975, was widespread in 1976. An eradication programme started in 1977 and the pest was eradicated in 1985 and has not been detected since. It is classified as an A2 pest.
Biotypes C, D & E: A1 pests, absent and declared never to occur in Uruguay.

Since the mid-1980s, only strain A (X.c. pv. citri) has been found in Uruguay. Cancrosis B (now X. citri pv. aurantifolii) is no longer found.
