Cacoecimorpha pronubana present in Ireland

The carnation tortrix Cacoecimorpha pronubana (EPPO A2 pest) has been found in a garden in the County of Dublin in May 1989. Larvae were feeding on the foliage of a cultivar of cherry laurel (Prunus laurocerasus).
The authors suggest that the tortricid is well established in Ireland.

The Ministry of Agriculture of Ireland has not given any official statement on this infestation, yet.
